Alvaro Araya Léon

By the age of 5, I took my first chords on the guitar and from that moment, my interest for music would develop to an unstoppable urge to play and sing.

In my early years, I played in several different constellations of bands with a big variety of genres. In 2011, I decided that I wanted to put my heart on rock music and founded the rockband Offensive Ground in which I was the lead singer from 2011 - 2015. After the latest tour with the band in Spain where the band supported the main act- Smash Into Pieces, I decided to leave the band due personal issues. I hesitated a lot if I wanted to get into music again. It wasn't until me and my long time friend, Jyrki Unhola, started to jam for fun that I found the joy to make music again. We started to record covers which later developed to making original music.

At the same time, Malin joined in and Portraits & Tales was born. It's so much fun to work with Jyrki and Malin. Especially when I get Malin annoyed when we record and produce new songs. I'm hard to please and she hates it!! But then she gets even, so it ends by me losing anyway. Luckily, we love each other!

Malin Araya Frostfalk

I knew since a young age that music was gonna be a part of my life. I sang to everything I heard on the radio and I wrote my first song at the age of seven. It was a really catchy song about horses ;)

I got older and continued to write songs, but the song that really got me stuck in songwriting was "Liberty" that I wrote in 2007.

I went away to live in Spain for about eight years where I worked in hotels as an entertainer and singer and I was in my prime time doing what i loved - being on stage!
I came back to Sweden in 2015 and I started working as a teacher. In 2019 I met Alvaro, the man of my dreams..
He was doing music for fun together with Jyrki.
I got to hear one of their cover songs and I randomly started to put harmonies on the song, they both liked it and the rest is history.
For a little bit of fun facts;
I have twins, a boy and a girl who is almost 9 years old.
I've been together with Alvaro for almost 4 years and we got actually got married the 19th of February 2022.
I'm a huge fan of horses and love horse- riding. I'm terribly afraid of spiders.
My best motto is; Hakuna Matata and a glass of red wine solves all trouble ;)

Jyrki Unhola

Music in any form has been my big interest for my whole life. My musical background is based on many different music styles, anything between jazz and hard rock.

It all started in a rock band when I was 13, a band called IQ 25. I've been educating my self in music in the past which has been useful through the years.

After many years of playing in different cover bands I wanted to do some original music or be apart of a band which wanted the same. After some projects I met Alvaro for some 10 years ago. We ended up playing in the same band and have been staying in touch since then.

A few years ago me and Alvaro started to talk about recording stuff together. We did some cover tunes in the beginning but soon came on to make some original tunes. Right about that time Malin came around and it all glued us together. We are having a lot of fun when we have our sessions. Sometimes we just get together and eat some good dinner including my sweet wife Camilla.

My motto is; Take it easy, dont hurry.
